The Palmer Family

The Palmers wanted to get outdoor family pictures. We only had about a half hour before it started raining and it got too cold for baby Ella, but I was still able to get a bunch of great shots. How could I not with such a great looking family?

Cletus

My brother Jon's wife had a baby last week. I think the poor kid's nick name will probably be Cletus. They weren't sure what they were going to name him and wanted to get a reaction out of the family, so Jon sent a serious email letting everyone know stats on the new baby including his name "Cletus Luke." I think his joke is going to backfire and the family is all going to call him Cletus for years to come.

His name ended up being Zachary, and he's a cute little guy. My wife helped me set up and get some fun shots of him and new big sister Sarah.

The Cameron Family

The Cameron Family is all back in town for Christmas and asked me to take some family portraits at Luther Burbank Park. They're a really laid back family and we had a fun time on this cold Saturday morning.

Oh Mexico

Wow, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. My daughter Abby burned her hand pretty bad in a cup of hot apple cider and she ended up seeing two emergency rooms and stayed the night in a burn unit. The burn is finally starting to look better and she's a lot happier now. Sorry for not blogging last week but with Abby in the hospital, my last week's photo shoot being a top secret Christmas suprise, Kristy having a kidney stone, and me putting together my new computer it just didn't happen. The next couple posts will be of some fun families I got to work with this last week. Enjoy!

For the next week and a half I'll be on a cruise in Mexico. I'm going with all of my inlaws and I'm so stoked to see and feel some sun. One of Kristy's aunts is watching our kids. We feel bad for ditching them over Christmas, but at least they're only 1 and 3 and hopefully won't get scarred for life. I'll reply to all of your emails on the 27th when I get back. PJ's Birthday with Ichiro

I'm not much of a sports fan to be honest with you. I like going to games if there are people going with me but it's a social thing not a sports thing. I'm always embarrassed and feel a bit like a wuss when I'm around the guy's discussing sports. When we get together with Lauren, Eric and PJ it's funny because Eric is as obsessed with baseball as I am with photography so Lauren and Kristy can relate with their husbands being obsessed.

PJ is just as obsessed with baseball as his dad. He loves the Red Sox and knows all of the major players and what teams they're on. He can tell you specifics about different games and he's a fierce ball player. It was only fitting that he have his birthday party at Safeco field.

Happy 7th PJ!

Our tour guide "Uncle Bobby" (who loved to refer to himself in third person) had a contest to see if the kids could find Icharo's seat. As soon as they got out of the dugout they spotted someone running stairs in the empty dark stadium and to everyone's surprise it was Icharo (the Mariners all star) which made everyone's day. The 6 & 7 year old kids soon decided to follow his example and show him he had nothing on them and raced up and down the stairs. Check the Slideshow to see. This one's a little slower to load.



Eric made this sweet cake of Fenway Park. I don't know many dads that would make their kid's birthday cake (with fondant!)

It's Snowing!

I love snow. I love that when the snow sticks here everything shuts down, and makes it seem like simpler times. It's the perfect reason to play hooky. It gives an excuse not to go to school or work and provides something to do in the off time. I love how it makes everything so quiet. I love the white vegitation everywhere and the cold (especially while I'm under my electric blanket).

Sisters

With all of my wifes sisters in town they wanted a little shoot with all of them and I was happy to do it. I got the group and a couple individual shots of each of them.

Stephanie

This is Stephanie, who other than being a totally cool person, a nurse, a student, and completely available, is my wife's sister. After seeing some of Jenna's pictures in the cabbage patch, she had to go and get some for herself.

Kelly

Kelly I another of my wifes sisters, she got to have her pictures taken under the most wonderful evening sun.

Andrea

Jay

When we were out taking pictures, I asked Jay what makes him smile. Other than girls, he said it was his sales pitch, so he gave it to me over and over and I could see He likes what he does. And what he'll likely be doing when he gets out of school.

Jenna

We went out on thanksgiving to Womens Forum and Vista House on the Colombia George in Oregon to get a few shots. Jenna was a lot of fun to work with, she knew how to move to get a lot of fun photos.

The wind was absolutly crazy at vista house, the gusts had to be in excess of 60mph, jenna and her mom had to walked together so they wouldn't get blown into anymore rails.


PS. a bit of advice for anyone visiting the Vista House on a windy day, park so the wind blows your doors shut, instead of parking so the wind rips the door out of you hand and nearly blows it off, I discovered this one the hard way, and quickly corrected for Jenna and her Mother

My Parents - Love Shoot

I've never done a photoshoot of my parents, this summer they had me get the rest of the family, but we forgot to get their picture. They were willing to go out in the cold with me for a couple of minutes so I could get a few shots of the two of them together.
